Objective: 

Dubai Municipality aimed to enhance safety standards across construction sites in the Emirate, prioritizing the well-being of engineers, consultants, supervisors, workers, and construction firms. The primary objectives included safeguarding individuals, reducing accidents, promoting adherence to safety regulations, and fostering a secure working environment. 

  

What Dubai Municipality was looking for: 

The municipality sought a comprehensive safety campaign to address the dynamic challenges of the construction sector. This involved raising awareness about structural safety, emphasizing the importance of worker health, and implementing innovative means to prioritize safety requirements. 

  

Action: 

Comprehensive Safety Campaign: Launched an extensive safety campaign targeting various stakeholders in the construction industry. 

Field Supervisory Visits: Conducted 35,672 visits to 14,858 construction sites during 2023 to ensure compliance with safety standards. 

Fake Evacuation Activity: Simulated a hypothetical evacuation scenario in Wasl, evaluating the speed and efficiency of authorities in responding to incidents. 

Safety Tent Activity: Organized awareness seminars, lectures, and workshops in Jebel Ali and Muhaisnah to educate construction site workers. 

  

Impact: 

Increased Awareness: The campaign significantly raised awareness among the target audience about the importance of safety. 

Enhanced Compliance: The implementation of field supervisory visits contributed to improved adherence to safety regulations. 

Efficient Emergency Response: The fake evacuation exercise evaluated the effectiveness of official and internal authorities in responding to emergencies. 

Educational Initiatives: Safety Tent Activities and workshops enhanced the understanding of security and safety requirements among construction site workers.
